The Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has officially received a police report filed by Ilma Sani Fitriana, the daughter of prominent writer Ahmad Bahar, against Hercules Rosario Marshal, the Chairman of GRIB Jaya. The report pertains to allegations of illegal detention, and authorities have confirmed that the case will proceed through a thorough investigation.
Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, emphasized that law enforcement agencies are obligated to accept all public complaints. However, he clarified that every report undergoes a rigorous verification process, commencing with a detailed investigation. “Polda Metro Jaya, like any police force, cannot refuse public reports. But every report will certainly lead to an investigation,” Budi Hermanto stated to reporters at Polda Metro on Saturday (May 23).
The investigative process will begin with a request for clarification from the complainant, Ilma Sani Fitriana. Investigators will also meticulously analyze any submitted evidence and conduct a comprehensive examination of the crime scene (TKP). This methodical approach is designed to establish a factual basis for the allegations.
Following these initial steps, investigators will summon Hercules, the reported party, to provide his statement. The police will then convene a case review meeting (gelar perkara) to determine whether criminal elements are present in the allegations. “If, during this investigation process, a case review is conducted, the status will shift from preliminary inquiry (lidik) to full investigation (sidik). This procedure will be followed,” Budi affirmed. Ilma Sani Fitriana’s report was officially registered with Polda Metro Jaya under the number LP/B/3679/V/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated May 22, 2026.
GRIB Jaya’s Response
Meanwhile, GRIB Jaya has voiced its perspective on the unfolding legal action. Marcel Gual, Head of Public Relations and Publication for the DPP GRIB Jaya, stated that his organization has no objection to the legal steps taken by the complainant.
“Go ahead (report us), this is a country of law, every citizen has the right to seek justice. It will simply be proven who the real perpetrator is, not someone playing the victim. What Bahar’s side has conveyed includes many wild opinions such as kidnapping and assault,” Marcel asserted when contacted on Saturday (May 23). He further added, “In reality, they are the perpetrators who demeaned the dignity of our chairman, and once again, what they’ve stated is merely to sway public opinion, far from the actual facts.”
Case Overview
This latest development follows a previous incident involving writer Ahmad Bahar. On Sunday night, May 17, his residence in Cimanggis, Depok, was reportedly surrounded by several members of a mass organization. It was also alleged that Ahmad Bahar’s daughter was briefly held hostage by members of this group.
However, the earlier case was resolved peacefully following mediation facilitated by the Depok Metro Police, preventing further escalation.
AKP Made Budi, Head of Public Relations for Depok Metro Police, elaborated on the previous intervention. “On that day, we checked a public complaint via 110, regarding the residence of Mr. Ahmad Bahar which was visited,” Made explained in his statement on Tuesday (May 19). He confirmed that several individuals had arrived at Ahmad Bahar’s home. After police intervention, a deliberation took place involving the mass organization, Mr. Junaedi Sitorus (Chairman of RW 16), and Ahmad Bahar’s daughter, Helma, leading to a peaceful resolution. “A joint statement of agreement to settle peacefully was made at the Depok Metro Police,” he concluded.
