Pramono: Tarif Transjabodetabek rute Blok M-Soetta akan segera diumumkan

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has confirmed that the official fare for the Transjabodetabek Blok M – Soekarno-Hatta International Airport route will be announced very soon. The Governor noted that a three-month trial period, which commenced upon the route’s official launch, is nearing its conclusion. “The Transjabodetabek fare, at the time of its official inauguration, was given a three-month trial period. That period has not ended yet; it is about to conclude, and we will make a decision on it immediately,” Pramono stated after inaugurating the DKI Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Building on Friday, May 8.

Pramono emphasized that the fare for the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport route would be determined separately due to its unique operational considerations, with other routes to be decided concurrently. He further elaborated on the specific factors necessitating a distinct fare assessment for this particular route. Key considerations include the considerable distance covered, the numerous passenger stops along the way, and the significantly higher parking fees at the airport compared to other locations. “Why is the Soekarno-Hatta route different? Firstly, because of the long distance, many stops, and the higher parking costs there compared to other places. Therefore, naturally, the expenses are also higher, ensuring that the subsidy doesn’t become excessively large,” he explained, highlighting the importance of managing operational costs to maintain sustainable public transport services.

In contrast to the forthcoming airport route fare, the existing fares for other Transjabodetabek and TransJakarta routes remain unchanged. Commuters currently pay IDR 2,000 during peak hours from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM WIB, and IDR 3,500 after 7:00 AM WIB. This established pricing framework provides a benchmark as the administration finalizes the new fare for the crucial airport connection.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had previously launched the Transjabodetabek SH2 Blok M – Soekarno-Hatta International Airport route on Thursday, March 12. This new route was introduced with the primary aim of providing a vital public transportation alternative to the airport, thereby encouraging a reduction in the use of private vehicles. “Today, we are starting something new that the community has been waiting for, which is the inauguration of the Transjabodetabek SH2 Blok M – Soekarno-Hatta Airport service. This route is one that many people have anticipated,” Pramono remarked during the launch event at Blok M Terminal, South Jakarta.

The Transjabodetabek SH2 airport service is currently supported by a fleet of 14 buses, making stops at 23 designated points. All buses are specifically designed as low-deck types, ensuring easy access for passengers, particularly those with luggage, at various locations including the airport terminals. These specialized buses also facilitate convenient travel by stopping directly at all three main terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Pramono further clarified the unique features of these vehicles, stating, “Firstly, the buses are different. Their decks are lower because there are three points at the airport where they must stop. All three will be at Terminal 1, 2, and 3. Additionally, inside the buses themselves, there is dedicated space for luggage.”
