Okin Denies Child Support Allegations as Lawyer Reveals Legal Agreement

Legal counsel for Niko Al Hakim, popularly known as Okin, has officially refuted claims that the influencer failed to provide child support to his children from his marriage with ex-wife Rachel Vennya. The rebuttal comes after Rachel previously suggested that her former husband had been neglecting his financial responsibilities toward their children.

Axl Mattew, representing Okin, clarified his client’s reaction to the allegations. According to Axl, Okin expressed deep disappointment regarding the public narrative being painted by Rachel’s side. “Niko is disappointed. He has always shown good faith in fulfilling his obligations, yet he is being framed as an irresponsible father,” Axl stated during a press conference in Kemang, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (May 13).

The original child support agreement stipulated a payment of IDR 50 million per month. Axl emphasized that Okin has consistently fulfilled these obligations ever since his divorce from Rachel was finalized.

However, the payment structure underwent a change after Rachel moved into Okin’s house in Kemang. The former couple reached a mutual agreement to convert the IDR 50 million monthly support payment into the monthly mortgage installments for the property. “We agreed on that conversion. It was decided that while waiting for the asset transition, Rachel would occupy the house in Kemang, and Okin would cover the mortgage instead of the direct cash support,” Axl explained.

Axl further highlighted that this arrangement was a clear, mutually consented plan. “The conversion was agreed upon. Rachel was permitted to occupy the house with the clear understanding that our client would continue his financial support through the mortgage payments,” he added.

Given this context, Axl believes the accusation that Okin is irresponsible is entirely misplaced. Because Okin has strictly adhered to the agreement made with his ex-wife, Axl argued that labeling him as an absentee or irresponsible father is factually incorrect. “If there is rhetoric suggesting that our client is not acting as a responsible father, I believe that is false. The agreement was already in place and honored,” he concluded.

While Rachel Vennya and Okin previously faced disputes regarding property ownership, those issues have now been resolved through a final agreement. Following the sale of the Kemang house for IDR 4.1 billion, Okin clarified that he did not retain any personal profit from the transaction. Of the total proceeds, IDR 1 billion was allocated to settle the mortgage, while the remaining IDR 3.1 billion was utilized to fulfill his ongoing financial obligations to his children and his former wife.

Summary

Niko Al Hakim, known as Okin, has officially denied allegations of failing to provide child support to his children with his ex-wife, Rachel Vennya. His legal counsel, Axl Mattew, clarified that Okin has consistently fulfilled his financial obligations, including a former agreement to pay IDR 50 million monthly. The payment structure was later converted into mortgage installments for a house in Kemang, which Rachel occupied by mutual agreement.

Okin expressed disappointment over being labeled an irresponsible father, asserting that the change in payment method was a pre-agreed arrangement. Following the sale of the Kemang property for IDR 4.1 billion, the proceeds were used to settle the mortgage and fulfill his ongoing financial duties to his children and ex-wife. Consequently, his legal team maintains that the accusations of neglect are factually incorrect and misrepresent his commitment as a father.
