PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) President Director Bobby Rasyidin has confirmed that one railway track at Bekasi Timur Station is now operational following a collision involving a Commuterline KRL and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train on Monday evening (April 27).
Speaking at the scene early Tuesday morning (April 28), Bobby stated, “One track is now open and fully passable.”
Bobby explained that on-site teams worked with urgency to clear the downstream line. The Commuterline train, which had been impacted after colliding with a taxi, was successfully evacuated using a rescue train. This operation marks the beginning of a phased effort to normalize travel schedules for commuters affected by the disruption.
“We have successfully cleared the downstream track,” Bobby noted. “As witnessed earlier, our rescue crew has completed the retrieval of the KRL unit involved in the incident with the taxi.”
To ensure passenger safety, KAI is currently conducting thorough inspections of the track’s structural integrity at the site. This verification process is crucial to guarantee that the line is completely safe before resuming full-scale operations.
“We are currently inspecting the rails and will soon open the single track heading eastward,” he concluded.
