Teknowarta TANAH ABANG – The relentless crackdown on illegal hard drug distribution continues to intensify across the Tanah Abang area of Central Jakarta. In the latest significant operation, police conducted raids at three distinct locations, leading to the apprehension of three suspected drug dealers.
During these coordinated raids, authorities confiscated thousands of illicit pills lacking proper distribution permits. The seized narcotics included a wide array of substances such as Tramadol, Heximer, Trihexyphenidyl, Xanax, Dumolid, Alprazolam, and the notorious Double Y pills.
The successful operation, according to Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, stemmed from crucial public reports. Residents expressed growing concern and unease over the rampant illegal hard drug transactions plaguing the Tanah Abang district. Acting on these vital leads, police swiftly mobilized, conducting strategic raids at Jalan KS Tubun IV in Petamburan, Jalan Jati Baru Raya in Kampung Bali, and a retail outlet situated on Jalan Lontar, Kebon Kacang, within the Tanah Abang area.
The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals: A (38), RAD (33), and K (43). “All three are currently undergoing intensive questioning at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit,” Chief Hutagalung stated on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Additionally, officers seized Rp 218,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from the illicit drug sales.

“We are committed to taking decisive action against all forms of illegal drug circulation within the jurisdiction of Central Jakarta,” Reynold affirmed, reiterating the police’s unwavering stance.
Hunting Suppliers
Authorities are not stopping there. Police are actively pursuing the wider network of suppliers and tracking the distribution channels for these illegal hard drugs.
Chief Hutagalung also urged the community to remain vigilant and actively report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking or illicit substance distribution. “If you encounter any suspicious activity, please report it immediately via Call Center 110, so officers can take swift action,” he added.
For their involvement in these criminal acts, the suspects have been charged under Article 435 subsidiary to Article 436 paragraph 2 of the Health Law.
