During an emotional press conference held at her Bibi Kelinci establishment in Kemang, South Jakarta, on Friday (March 6), O’Brien vehemently questioned the conscience of those who reported her to the police, asserting that she is, in fact, the victim of a brazen theft.

“I want to ask directly, where is your conscience?” Nabilah passionately declared. “You came to my place, took 14 of our food and beverage products without paying a single cent.” She emphasized that this act not only inflicted significant material damage but also deeply hurt her dedicated employees, who were simply striving to earn a living. With tears streaming down her face, she added, “Not only that, you insulted my employees, entered my kitchen area, yelling and verbally abusing my staff who were working hard to make ends meet.”

Furthermore, Nabilah O’Brien raised serious concerns regarding the handling of her case by the National Police Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri), describing the entire investigative process as “odd” and perplexing. O’Brien firmly stated that the alleged theft at her restaurant was fully captured by CCTV cameras. “The CCTV footage exists, and CCTV never lies,” she asserted, underscoring the undeniable evidence. Despite her consistent cooperation throughout the legal proceedings, Nabilah feels that the facts she has presented have been insufficient to halt the legal entanglement she now faces. “I am merely a common citizen, a small business owner striving to provide for many people who depend on me,” she pleaded. She also drew attention to a staggering compensation claim of Rp 1 billion filed against her, an amount she believes is grossly disproportionate to the actual value of the food and beverages reportedly taken.

The declaration of her suspect status, Nabilah revealed, has severely impacted her mental well-being. For the past five months since the designation, she has struggled profoundly to focus on her work. “I am stressed. I have found it difficult to focus on work for these five months,” she shared candidly. She expressed disbelief, adding, “Suddenly I am made a suspect simply for voicing facts for my own sake and for public safety.” In a desperate plea, Nabilah called for the direct intervention of President Prabowo Subianto and the Chairman of House Commission III, Habiburokhman, to help prevent her from becoming a victim of criminalization. “I believe there are still many good police officers and a government that genuinely supports small business owners,” she concluded, her voice filled with hope. “Please help me ensure that this criminalization does not mark the end of my life or my business.”

This complex legal situation originated in September 2025, when a couple identified by their initials ZK and ESR allegedly ordered 11 food items and 3 drinks at Bibi Kelinci Restaurant, accumulating a bill of Rp 530,150, which they subsequently failed to pay. Police authorities have clarified that this is not a singular case but involves two distinct reports concerning different legal matters.

• The First Case (Theft) is being handled by the Mampang Prapatan Police. In this instance, Nabilah O’Brien (referred to as NAA) is recognized as the victim, having reported the couple, ZK and ESR, for alleged theft under Article 363 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).

• The Second Case (ITE Law) falls under the jurisdiction of the Cybercrime Directorate of Bareskrim Polri. This specific case pertains to NAA’s act of uploading the CCTV footage of the incident to social media. In this particular report, Nabilah O’Brien is the reported party.
