Saat rumah Jusuf Kalla ditabrak pengendara mobil

On Wednesday, February 18, in the early hours of the morning, the residence of former Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla was involved in a collision when a car carrying three individuals crashed into its perimeter. The driver was reportedly drowsy, leading to a loss of control that resulted in the vehicle striking the property of the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia. The incident has since reached a peaceful resolution through a meeting between both parties, with the driver agreeing to cover the costs of the damage incurred.

The incident occurred at approximately 03:30 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB) when a Jeep Hyundai Santa Fe collided with the fence of Jusuf Kalla’s house in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta. Police suspect the driver lost control due to drowsiness, particularly given the early morning timing of the accident. “There seems to be nothing else, but it’s still being investigated. However, based on preliminary information, it was due to drowsiness, considering the incident happened at 03:30 WIB,” explained an official. The vehicle, which was traveling from Jalan Kemang, ultimately struck and damaged the substantial fence surrounding the property. Law enforcement received reports of the incident and initiated an investigation into its cause.

Following the impact, the property revealed significant damage, with sections of the fence collapsed and shards of a convex road mirror scattered across the grounds. According to Alim, the house guard, the residence is currently occupied by one of Jusuf Kalla’s children. Alim recounted the events to reporters, “So this incident was around 3:30 AM. This car came from the direction of Kemang. Perhaps the driver of this car was initially thought to be intoxicated, causing them to hit this pole [the convex road mirror], and then directly into this, the car [went] inside.” Observations at the scene by kumparan indeed showed broken glass and fence materials strewn about. Several workers were later seen diligently repairing the damaged front fence, which Alim further confirmed: “So what’s damaged is the glass, and then the fence. This [fence] collapsed inwards.”

However, police authorities later clarified that the driver, identified by the initials AP (35), was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The case will not be pursued through criminal legal channels as the driver and representatives of Jusuf Kalla’s household have reached a mutual agreement for mediation to address and repair the fence damage. “There has been a meeting between both parties, and they have agreed that the damage will be repaired,” stated South Jakarta Police Public Relations Chief AKP Murodih. Previously, house guard Alim had also provided details about the vehicle’s occupants, stating there were three people inside—one woman and two men—and that the driver was a woman, approximately 30 years old, which police later confirmed as 35-year-old AP.
