Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has announced plans to review the operating hours of the Car Free Day (CFD) event on Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta. The adjustment aims to conclude the weekly event earlier to ensure it does not interfere with the religious services of local residents.
While acknowledging the overwhelming public enthusiasm for the Rasuna Said CFD, Pramono noted that the administration has received specific feedback from the community regarding Sunday morning worship services, which typically begin at 10:00 AM WIB in the area.
“The public enthusiasm has been extraordinary. However, we have received requests from various parties around Rasuna Said, particularly concerning the timing of religious services that usually commence at 10:00 AM,” Pramono told reporters during a visit to Kramat Jati Market in East Jakarta on Monday (11/5).

In response to these concerns, Pramono confirmed that while the CFD on Rasuna Said will continue to start at 5:30 AM WIB, the conclusion time will be moved up to better accommodate the neighborhood’s schedule. He emphasized that the objective is to balance urban recreational activities with the needs of the local community.
“We have decided that the Car Free Day on Rasuna Said will keep its 5:30 AM start time, but it will definitely wrap up earlier than the current schedule to respect local worship needs,” he explained.
Pramono further clarified that the operational scheme for the Rasuna Said CFD will be distinct from the well-established routine in the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor.

“For Rasuna Said, I am specifically taking into account the suggestions from the community members who need to attend Sunday services. The operational approach will certainly differ from what we have on Sudirman-Thamrin,” he asserted.
The administration is currently evaluating the precise end times for CFD events at various locations. Pramono stated that the final decision regarding these time adjustments will be announced ahead of June 1, 2026.
“Regarding the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor, we will start at 5:30 AM, but we are still deciding whether the event will end at 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM. We will finalize this decision before the June 1 deadline,” he concluded.
