The body of Private First Class (Praka) Farizal Rhomadhon, a dedicated peacekeeper who tragically fell during his mission in Lebanon, is anticipated to arrive at his family home in Ledok, Sidorejo, Lendah, Kulon Progo Regency, on Saturday evening (April 4).
“We expect the body to arrive on Saturday evening,” confirmed Commander of Kodim 0731/Kulon Progo, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Dyan Niti Sukma, when contacted on Friday (April 3).
The late soldier is scheduled to be laid to rest at the Taman Makam Pahlawan Giripeni (Heroes’ Cemetery) in Wates, Kulon Progo. This decision follows initial family considerations to bury him in a public cemetery in Ledok, but the final choice honors his significant sacrifice.
“It is indeed confirmed for the Taman Makam Pahlawan,” Dyan affirmed.
Family’s Considerations
M. Fitra Abdul Aziz, Farizal’s brother-in-law, explained that the family ultimately decided on the Heroes’ Cemetery after careful thought and with several profound considerations.
“Primarily, it’s for his child. We want his child, when they grow up, to be incredibly proud that their father was a national hero who dedicated his service to global peace,” Fitra shared yesterday, reflecting on the lasting legacy.

By interring Farizal at the esteemed Taman Makam Pahlawan, the family also harbors hopes for a brighter future for his beloved child. This significant recognition is believed to pave the way for a more secure and promising path ahead, potentially drawing support from the government.
“Considering his child’s future, we hope for a better and brighter path going forward. There could also be support from the government,” he added, emphasizing the family’s hopes for lasting acknowledgement of Farizal’s ultimate sacrifice.
Extraordinary Posthumous Promotion
Earlier, Commander of Infantry Brigade 25/Siwah, Colonel Inf. Dimar Bahtera, announced that Praka Farizal was granted an extraordinary posthumous promotion (KPLB), a rare honor signifying his exceptional service and sacrifice.
“He has been posthumously promoted through KPLB, from the rank of Private First Class (Praka) to Corporal Second Class (Kopda),” Dimar stated, acknowledging the valor and dedication of the fallen peacekeeper.
