President-elect Prabowo Subianto recently shared a significant moment, breaking fast with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) on Thursday, February 26. This gathering underscored the deep bond between the two nations, taking place during the blessed month of Ramadan.
“Alhamdulillah, in the holy month of Ramadan, filled with blessings, I had the esteemed opportunity to break fast with the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” Prabowo announced on his official Instagram account on Friday, February 27. He emphasized that this meeting served as a crucial juncture to further cement the strong friendship and robust cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE.
Prabowo highlighted the broader vision behind such high-level engagements, stating, “This friendly encounter is a momentum to strengthen our friendship and reinforce the strategic cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE, ultimately for the welfare and prosperity of the people of both nations.” Such remarks underscore the commitment to mutual growth and development.
The visit to Abu Dhabi commenced on Wednesday, February 25, when Prabowo arrived aboard a Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft. His arrival was met with a distinguished reception by several key figures, including UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei, Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Judha Nugraha, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Obaid Salem AlDaheri, and Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Brigadier General Tony Aris Setiawan. From the airport, Prabowo and his delegation proceeded directly to their hotel, where they would be staying during their time in Abu Dhabi.
Upon his arrival at the hotel, President Prabowo was warmly greeted by Indonesian students and members of the Indonesian diaspora residing in the UAE. Among them was Naufal Ahmad Sofyan, an undergraduate student at Muhammad bin Zayed University for Humanities and the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Students Association (PPI) in the UAE. Naufal expressed profound admiration and excitement at the chance to meet the head of state in person, noting that Prabowo extended a warm and attentive welcome to everyone present.
“The impression of welcoming Mr. Prabowo was one of immense joy and happiness. We were fortunate enough to shake his hand, and it was truly memorable for us. Particularly, President Prabowo, he is the greatest President,” Naufal passionately remarked, reflecting the overwhelming sentiment of the Indonesian community gathered to greet their leader.
