The firstborn of Prince Abdul Mateen Bolkiah and Princess Anisha is a girl. According to the official palace statement, the young royal couple’s daughter was born at 8:50 AM local time. As of now, the name of Mateen and Anisha’s daughter has not been disclosed, nor has the Brunei Sultanate revealed the infant’s image to the public.

The eagerly awaited birth of Princess Anisha and Prince Mateen’s daughter was celebrated with a resounding 17-gun salute fired from Nurul Iman Palace, the official residence of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

However, it is important to note that the daughter of Prince Mateen and Anisha Rosnah will not be in the direct line of succession to the Brunei Sultanate throne, as she is female. According to prevailing royal law, only male Muslim descendants of the royal family’s male members are eligible to inherit the throne.

Prince Abdul Mateen himself currently stands fifth in the line of succession to the Brunei throne. Preceding him are his elder siblings and nephews: Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah, Prince Abdul Muntaqim, Prince Muhammad Aiman, and Prince Abdul Malik.

The public first learned of Anisha Rosnah‘s pregnancy when Prince Mateen announced the happy news in October 2025 via a post on his official Instagram account, @tmski. The elegant black-and-white photograph captured Anisha and Mateen gracefully dancing, accompanied by the heartfelt caption, “And then there were three.”

The royal couple famously tied the knot in January 2024. Their lavish wedding celebrations spanned 10 days across Brunei Darussalam, a grand affair that quickly earned the event the moniker of “the iconic wedding of the decade.” Following her marriage to Mateen, Anisha Rosnah—who hails from a distinguished family in Brunei—was officially bestowed the esteemed title of Princess.
