<p><strong>Teknowarta -</strong> JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) recently conducted a Sting Operation (OTT) in Bengkulu Province, leading to the apprehension of Rejang Lebong Regent, Muhammad Fikri Thobari.</p>

<p>”Indeed, the Rejang Lebong Regent,” confirmed KPK Deputy Chairman, Fitroh Rohcahyanto, when contacted by <em>Bisnis</em> on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.</p>

<p>However, at the time of the confirmation, he did not disclose specific details regarding the alleged corruption case involving the Rejang Lebong Regent, nor the total number of individuals secured during the operation.</p>

<p>Following their apprehension, the individuals taken into custody were transported to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in South Jakarta. There, they are slated for examination and the subsequent determination of their legal status in accordance with established procedures.</p>

<p>Muhammad Fikri Thobari, born on February 4, 1981, is the current Rejang Lebong Regent, serving for the 2025–2030 term. Beyond his significant role as the head of the regional administration, he also holds the position of Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) for the National Mandate Party (PAN) in Rejang Lebong Regency.</p>

<p>Thobari’s political career experienced a substantial boost after he decided to run in the 2024 Rejang Lebong regional elections (Pilkada). During this critical contest, he formed a formidable partnership with Hendri, who at the time served as an ideology analyst at the Musi Rawas Regency National Unity Agency.</p>

<p>The Fikri–Hendri ticket ultimately emerged victorious in the election, securing an impressive 63,691 votes, which constituted approximately 44.07% of the total valid votes cast.
