One way lokal diterapkan, arus balik di Tol Semarang-Solo mulai cair

Traffic flow on the Semarang-Solo Toll Road has begun to ease and move smoothly as of Saturday evening, March 28. This improvement follows the implementation of a tactical local one-way traffic system by police, specifically designed to alleviate vehicle congestion for motorists heading towards Jakarta.

Monitoring through the Travoy application indicates a significant reduction in the long queues previously observed earlier this afternoon for return traffic traveling from Salatiga towards Jakarta on the Semarang-Solo Toll Road.

Despite this overall improvement, the volume of vehicles around the Banyumanik Toll Gate, particularly those proceeding towards Jakarta, remains heavy but crucially, the traffic continues to move steadily.

Police Commissioner Artanto, Head of Public Relations for the Central Java Regional Police, confirmed that this discretionary measure was enacted to disperse the significant vehicle density that had accumulated within the inner-city toll road sections of Semarang.

“The local one-way system commenced at 5:30 PM WIB, stretching from Kilometer 421 at the Banyumanik Gate to Kilometer 414 at the Kalikangkung Gate, specifically to mitigate congestion on the inner-city toll segments,” Artanto stated to reporters on Saturday.

The implementation of this local one-way system specifically prioritizes vehicles originating from the Solo/Salatiga areas and traveling westward towards Jakarta. By fully utilizing all lanes across what would typically be separate A and B directions for this unified flow, crucial choke points such as the Tembalang incline and the access road leading to the Kalikangkung Toll Gate are gradually clearing, ensuring a smoother journey for commuters.
