jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The legal proceedings against four Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) BAIS personnel, who are allegedly involved in an acid attack on Andrie Yunus, the Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, are currently underway, according to TNI Information Center Head, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah.
This statement from Major General Aulia comes amidst strong demands from the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) to establish an Independent Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) to thoroughly investigate the assault on Andrie Yunus.
“As of now, the investigation into the four personnel suspected of assaulting brother AY (Andrie Yunus) is ongoing,” he stated when approached by reporters on Tuesday (March 24).
The TNI Military Police Center (Puspom TNI) has confirmed the detention of four individuals suspected in the acid attack on Andrie: Captain NDP, First Lieutenant SL, First Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant ES.

However, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) later identified the alleged perpetrators as BHWC and MAK, initials that distinctly differ from those released by Puspom TNI.
This significant discrepancy in the alleged perpetrators’ initials has prompted TAUD, alongside a coalition of civil society organizations, to intensify their calls for the formation of an Independent Joint Fact-Finding Team dedicated to the Andrie Yunus case.
Regarding the planned coordination between Puspom TNI and Polda Metro Jaya in handling the acid attack case, Major General Aulia has yet to provide detailed information.
He also refrained from commenting on whether coordination between investigators from both institutions has already taken place, urging all parties to patiently await the ongoing legal process.
In accordance with the Intelligence Law, the House of Representatives is Entitled to Investigate the Acid Attack Case on Andrie Yunus
“Please wait until the entire investigation process by investigators from Puspom TNI is completed,” Aulia urged.
Previously, TAUD issued an official statement highlighting the conflicting initials of the alleged acid attack perpetrators provided by the TNI and Polda Metro Jaya.
They view these discrepancies as creating significant uncertainty regarding the legal process and the actual facts of the case.

Furthermore, Polda Metro Jaya had indicated the possibility that more than four individuals might have been involved in the assault.
“Therefore, we advocate for verification by independent bodies such as the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) and the establishment of an Independent TGPF to uncover objective and comprehensive facts, ultimately identifying both the field actors and the intellectual masterminds behind the attack,” stated Fadhil Alfathan, a representative of TAUD from LBH Jakarta. Summary
The legal proceedings against four TNI BAIS personnel, suspected of an acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, are currently underway, as confirmed by TNI Information Center Head Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah. Puspom TNI has detained four individuals in connection with the assault. However, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police later identified different alleged perpetrators, creating a significant discrepancy in the case details.
