Despite the considerable damage, vehicles were still able to navigate the affected segment, albeit through a single lane. Kompol Mujiyanto, Head of Traffic for the South Jakarta Metro Police, confirmed this, stating that joint officers were swiftly deployed to manage the flow of vehicles. “Currently, there are no diversions or major traffic engineering changes as one lane towards Depok remains passable,” Mujiyanto informed reporters on Friday, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to maintain accessibility. By Friday afternoon, the route on Lenteng Agung Raya Road towards Depok, specifically in the Srengseng Sawah area of Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, was confirmed to be operational for vehicles.

The damage to the road is suspected to be a direct consequence of a compromised drainage system situated beneath the asphalt. Siti Dinar Wenny, Head of Data and Information Center for DKI Jakarta‘s Bina Marga agency, elaborated on this, noting that the Water Resources (SDA) agency has taken the lead in initial repair efforts. “The preliminary response involves the SDA agency addressing the structural damage to the underground drainage system, which is believed to have caused the roadbed to subside,” Siti explained on Friday, as reported by Wartakotalive.com. AKP Benny Muchtar, Head of Traffic for Jagakarsa Police, specifically directed drivers traveling from Pasar Minggu towards Depok to take a detour. “For those using Lenteng Agung Raya Road heading to Depok, we urge you to seek alternative paths,” Benny emphasized. He explained that drivers from Pasar Minggu could utilize a U-turn near the ‘gardu’ (guard post) to access Jalan Juanda. From there, vehicles can proceed towards areas like Antasari, Andara, Cinere, and eventually Beji, Depok. Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the Lenteng Agung Raya Road stretch towards Depok due to the constricted single-lane access, which is highly prone to causing prolonged congestion.

Furthermore, AKP Benny Muchtar detailed another critical diversion strategy for drivers originating from the Gardu area and Pancasila University Campus. These motorists are advised to execute a U-turn towards Jalan Raya Bogor. “Utilize the Tapal Kuda (horseshoe U-turn) to turn back towards Jalan Raya Bogor; if coming from Gardu or UP campus, make the U-turn and proceed onto Jalan Raya Bogor,” Benny instructed on Friday, as reported by Wartakotalive.com.
