Residents of Jember have been urged to remain calm following an explosion at the Pesona Regency Mosque in Patrang District on Monday evening, March 16th. The call for composure came from Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abast, the Head of Public Relations for the East Java Regional Police, as authorities began their investigation into the unsettling incident.
Initial reports indicate that the blast originated from an iron board located within the mosque’s ablution area. To ensure public safety and facilitate the ongoing investigation, Kombes Pol Abast reiterated his appeal for the community to “remain calm and stay away from the area surrounding the mosque,” he told kumparan on Tuesday, March 17th.
In a swift response to the incident, members of the Jember Resort Police immediately secured the explosion site. Their personnel are currently diligently collecting crucial evidence to determine the precise cause of the blast that rocked the religious facility.
Fortunately, early findings from the police investigation have confirmed that no fatalities were reported in connection with the explosion.
