Cimahi Police have successfully solved the chilling murder of a 14-year-old junior high school student, identified by his initials ZAAQ. His body was tragically discovered on Friday, February 13, 2026, in the desolate area of the former Kampung Gajah amusement park in Parongpong, West Bandung Regency. In a swift operation, two juvenile perpetrators, YA (aged 16) and AP (aged 17), were apprehended less than 24 hours after the grim discovery, bringing a rapid development to the distressing case.
According to Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko Adi Putra, the primary motive behind the brutal killing stemmed from profound resentment. The perpetrators reportedly harbored ill feelings towards the victim, stating that ZAAQ had declared his intention to end their friendship. This declaration of ending the camaraderie appears to have ignited the fatal rage.
The investigation has meticulously pieced together the harrowing chronology of events leading to ZAAQ’s death:

The two perpetrators, YA and AP, journeyed from Garut to Bandung with a sinister intent. Upon their arrival in Bandung, they patiently waited for the victim near SMPN 26 in the Sukajadi area until just before the Asar prayer time. It was revealed that the victim and the assailants had been friends since their time in Garut, with ZAAQ having later moved to Bandung for his schooling.
After their meeting, the perpetrators lured ZAAQ to the abandoned grounds of the former Kampung Gajah in Parongpong, ostensibly for a more private conversation. Observing the main gate still bustling with activity, they steered the victim deeper into the secluded parts of the area. Meanwhile, AP remained near the entrance, tasked with guarding their motorcycle and monitoring the surroundings, providing a lookout for the impending crime.
In this isolated spot, the confrontation escalated. YA expressed his deep-seated resentment towards the victim, leading to a heated argument. The perpetrator then violently struck ZAAQ’s head with a bottle found at the scene. “This bottle was used to hit him, and once the victim fell, the knife or bayonet that had been prepared was then taken out,” explained AKBP Niko, detailing the gruesome turn of events.
The sharp weapon, a bayonet, had been meticulously prepared by the perpetrator and concealed within the motorcycle’s seat compartment, indicating a pre-meditated act. After ZAAQ had fallen to the ground, he was subjected to a horrific attack, stabbed eight times in the abdomen. Following this brutal act, the perpetrators seized the victim’s mobile phone and jacket, abandoning him at the site. Disturbingly, the assailants claimed that ZAAQ was still alive when they left him. YA then met AP, chillingly stating in Sundanese, “tos dipaéhan, tos beres ayo pulang ke Garut ayeuna” (already killed, it’s done, let’s go back to Garut now).

In a cunning attempt to mislead investigators, both perpetrators, who were known friends of the victim, were questioned by ZAAQ’s other acquaintances about his whereabouts. They vehemently denied any knowledge, fabricating an alibi. Later that evening, they used ZAAQ’s phone to send messages to his friends, falsely claiming, “I’ve been kidnapped,” a cynical ploy to create the illusion that the victim was still alive and held captive.

The horrifying truth came to light when ZAAQ’s deceased body was discovered by two witnesses who were live-streaming on TikTok at the very location of the former Kampung Gajah. Initial reports from the witnesses indicated they were drawn by a pungent odor, which they initially mistook for an animal carcass. “It turned out, after they approached, it was a male body,” stated AKBP Niko. A subsequent crime scene investigation and preliminary autopsy confirmed the brutality of the attack, revealing signs of blunt force trauma to the victim’s head and the eight fatal stab wounds to his stomach.

Through diligent investigative work and comprehensive examination of witness testimonies, police successfully apprehended both YA and AP in the Banyuresmi area of Garut. The critical evidence seized during their arrest included the victim’s jacket, his mobile phone, the bayonet used in the stabbing, and the bottle employed to strike ZAAQ. The swift action by the police ensured the perpetrators were brought to justice within days of the body’s discovery.
The perpetrators now face severe legal consequences. Police have charged them under Article 80 paragraph (3) of the Child Protection Law and Article 459 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) concerning premeditated murder. These grave charges carry a maximum penalty that could include the death penalty, life imprisonment, or a maximum of 20 years in prison, underscoring the serious nature of the crime committed by these juvenile offenders.
