Singer Yura Yunita shared a deeply moving account following the funeral procession of her close friend, Vidi Aldiano, held at TPU Tanah Kusir Cemetery in South Jakarta on Sunday, March 8th. Yura revealed that she only learned of Vidi’s passing while she was undertaking the sacred pilgrimage of Umrah.
According to Yura, the somber news reached her while she was in Medina, plunging her into profound sadness. Despite the sorrow, she expressed immense gratitude for being able to return in time to escort Vidi Aldiano to his final resting place.
Reflecting on her return, Yura stated, “I arrived in Indonesia, thank God, at 6:30 AM. I managed to visit his home, go to the mosque, and offer prayers for him. I am incredibly grateful that I could accompany him all the way to his grave. It was a beautiful sight; Vidi looked so dignified.” This personal reflection highlights the depth of her bond with the late singer.
Yura then lovingly reminisced about numerous plans she had made with the artist, known for hits like “Status Palsu.” She shared that she and the late Vidi Aldiano had intended to perform the Hajj pilgrimage together and even had a meeting scheduled for that very afternoon.
She revealed, “Yes, most recently… our shared dream was to go on Hajj together. And two days before he passed away, he actually wrote something in front of the Kaaba.” This poignant detail underscores the spiritual connection and unfulfilled aspirations between the two friends.

“Initially, we had an appointment to meet at 4 PM this afternoon, but it turned out our meeting was directly at his final resting place,” she added, her voice heavy with emotion.
During the somber occasion, Yura offered heartfelt testimony about Vidi Aldiano’s character, emphasizing that he was an exceptionally kind soul. She highlighted Vidi as someone who consistently showed deep care and concern for everyone in his surroundings.
“He cared more about everyone around him than he did about himself,” she remarked, painting a picture of Vidi’s selfless nature.
Despite her immense grief over Vidi’s passing, Yura expressed profound gratitude. She found solace in the belief that Sheila Dara’s beloved husband had passed away under truly beautiful and auspicious circumstances.

She tearfully shared, “Alhamdulillah, he passed away beautifully, on a blessed day, the day the Quran was revealed, and during the holy month of Ramadan. So, God willing, Vidi achieved a beautiful ending (husnul khatimah). Thank you all very much, friends.”
The beloved singer, Vidi Aldiano, tragically passed away at the age of 35, following a courageous nearly seven-year battle with kidney cancer.
Vidi’s health struggles began in 2019 when he was initially diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney cancer. Shortly after this devastating prognosis, the acclaimed singer, known for his hit “Nuansa Bening,” underwent a critical operation to remove one of his kidneys in an effort to combat the aggressive disease.
Reports indicated that Vidi was battling advanced Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma (ccRCC), which is recognized as the most prevalent form of kidney cancer. This specific type of cancer originates from the small tubular cells within the kidney, which are vital for filtering blood and producing urine.
During his prolonged health journey, Vidi had at one point made the difficult decision to take a hiatus from his career, prioritizing much-needed rest and intensive focus on his ongoing medical treatment.
