A vehicle carrying Muhammad Hilman Mufidi, also known as Gus Hilman, a member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), was involved in a serious collision with a truck on the Pasuruan-Probolinggo (Paspro) Toll Road at KM 834 on Saturday afternoon, May 23. The accident tragically resulted in the deaths of two passengers and left Gus Hilman and his driver injured. Aipda Muhammad Taufik Rahadian, Head of the Law Enforcement Unit for the Probolinggo City Traffic Police, provided details of the incident. He explained that the Innova, driven by Mahrus Ali, was traveling from Probolinggo towards Pasuruan in the right lane. Upon reaching the accident scene, it encountered a dump truck moving in the same direction. “The driver of the Innova vehicle is suspected of being drowsy or lacking concentration, causing the vehicle to swerve left and collide with the right rear side of the dump truck,” Taufik stated, as quoted by Antara on Sunday, May 24.
Beyond Gus Hilman and his driver, the Innova was also carrying two staff members, Alex Anwaruh (25) and Adinda Najwa (25). Both Alex and Adinda, who were accompanying Gus Hilman’s entourage, tragically lost their lives in the crash. Gus Hilman and his driver, Mahrus Ali, fortunately survived the impact, sustaining injuries. Gus Hilman is currently receiving medical treatment at Dr. Soetomo Regional General Hospital in Surabaya.

Following the accident, Lalu Hadrian, Vice Chairman of Commission X, offered an update on his colleague’s condition, assuring the public that Gus Hilman is now stable despite his injuries. “There are injuries, but Mas Hilman is stable,” Lalu told Kumparan when contacted on Sunday, May 24.
