Teknowarta – In a swift and significant development, investigators from the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) Special Crimes Division (JAM Pidsus) officially named Dadan Hindayana, the former head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), as a suspect in an alleged corruption case on Wednesday, June 3. This designation came less than 24 hours after President Prabowo Subianto removed Hindayana from his prominent position, signaling a strong stance against potential malfeasance within government bodies.
According to observations by JawaPos.com at the AGO Special Crimes Division’s Round Building, Dadan Hindayana was seen being escorted into a detention vehicle around 5:12 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB). He emerged from the building wearing the distinctive orange vest typically worn by AGO detainees, a stark symbol of his new status. His suspected involvement centers on an alleged corruption scheme related to the illicit buying and selling of sites designated for the development of Nutritional Service Fulfillment Points (SPPG).
Escorted by investigators, Dadan Hindayana offered no comments to the media, maintaining a resolute silence as he was led away from the Round Building. This public appearance followed a recent raid conducted by the Attorney General’s Office at the BGN headquarters, located in the Kebon Sirih area of Central Jakarta, as investigators intensified their probe into the agency’s operations.
Dudung Acknowledges Dadan Hindayana’s Dismissal from BGN Head Position Linked to SPPG Point Trading Practices
An anonymous internal source from the Attorney General’s Office revealed that the search at the BGN office was prompted by findings of alleged illegal trading practices concerning SPPG points. The source emphasized that these SPPG points are, in principle, never to be bought or sold. Furthermore, the registration process for establishing an SPPG is meant to be entirely open and free of charge, making any transaction involving these points a clear violation of protocol.
“These appear to be the findings uncovered there,” the internal AGO source stated, hinting at the gravity of the evidence gathered during the raid.
When approached by reporters for confirmation, Mochamad Jeffry, the Acting Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum), affirmed that the search had indeed taken place. He clarified that the operation was conducted by Special Crimes investigators to gather crucial evidence pertinent to their ongoing case handling.
“Special Crimes investigators from the Attorney General’s Office did indeed conduct a search at the BGN office,” Jeffry confirmed, though he refrained from disclosing explicit details about the specific case under investigation.
Despite the lack of detailed information from Jeffry, it is widely suspected that the case involves allegations of corruption, particularly given the recent public scrutiny surrounding the BGN. The agency has been in the spotlight not only due to the recently announced changes in its top leadership but also because of circulating rumors concerning a potential sting operation against BGN officials. Moreover, several BGN policies have drawn criticism for allegedly mismanaging and squandering the national budget.
It was previously reported that President Prabowo Subianto had made the decision to replace Dadan Hindayana as the BGN head, alongside his two deputy heads, Lodewyk Pusung and Sonny Sanjaya, as part of a broader leadership overhaul.
In their stead, the President appointed Nanik S. Deyang to lead the BGN, with Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono named as deputy heads, signaling a new chapter for the critical national agency.
The government has since reassured the public that these significant leadership changes will not impede the progress or implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program, which remains one of Indonesia’s crucial national priority initiatives.
