As the nation approaches H-3 Lebaran 2026, just three days before the major holiday, a significant surge in vehicle volume was observed across several toll roads on Wednesday, March 18. Reports confirm considerable traffic congestion extending from the Japek Toll to the MBZ Toll, while the Jakarta Inner City Toll remained notably clear.
According to updates from PT Jasa Marga, heavy traffic on the Japek Toll specifically affected the stretch from KM 52 to KM 57, heading towards Cikampek. This particular bottleneck was primarily caused by the continuous inflow and outflow of vehicles at the popular rest area located at KM 57, leading to significant slowdowns.
Concurrently, the MBZ Toll experienced its own challenges with multiple points of congestion. Motorists encountered heavy traffic starting from Cibitung KM 26 to Cikarang Barat KM 30, continuing from Cikarang Barat KM 33 to Cibatu KM 35, then through Cikarang Pusat KM 39 to Karawang Barat KM 42, and finally from Karawang Barat KM 43 to KM 48, all heading in the Cikampek direction.
To alleviate the severe congestion and manage the intense holiday exodus, authorities swiftly implemented a one-way traffic system on a significant portion of the Japek Toll. This measure was active from KM 70 stretching to Semarang Barat KM 421, aiming to facilitate smoother traffic flow for travelers.
In stark contrast to the challenges faced on the Japek and MBZ toll roads, the Jakarta Inner City Toll reported a remarkably different situation. Traffic there remained consistently smooth, with no significant congestion or delays observed, providing a clear route for urban commuters.
