Akhir ‘Cinta ditolak, kapak bertindak’: Perkenalan di KKN berujung pembacokan

A routine Community Service Program (KKN) became the unexpected setting where Reyhan Mufazar, 22, and Farradhila Ayu Pramesti, 23, first crossed paths. Both students at UIN Suska Riau, they were assigned to the same KKN group, a common activity for Indonesian university students.

Tragically, this initial encounter spiraled into a harrowing incident where Reyhan is now identified as the primary suspect in the brutal hacking of Farradhila. The chilling turn of events began during their shared university experience.

Daffa, a fellow KKN group member of both the victim and the perpetrator, recounted their first meeting, describing it as entirely normal, typical of students getting acquainted. “As far as I know, they met through the KKN program because they were in the same group. That’s where their acquaintance began,” Daffa stated on Friday (27/2).

Throughout her university years, Farradhila was known for her amiable nature, easily befriending others, especially within her Law faculty. Her thoughtful demeanor, which often included inviting friends to meals or reminding them to eat, was reportedly misconstrued by Reyhan, who may have perceived her kindness as something more due to their shared academic circle.

Baper (Misinterpreted Feelings)

However, Farradhila’s genuine acts of kindness allegedly ignited unrequited and intense feelings in Reyhan. Daffa suggested that Reyhan’s introverted personality and limited prior close interactions with women might have led him to misinterpret her friendly gestures, causing him to become overly emotional.

“Perhaps because the perpetrator was an introvert and had never been close to a woman before, when she treated him kindly like that, he became ‘baper’ (overly emotional/took it personally),” Daffa elaborated.

Despite this, Farradhila had repeatedly made it clear that their relationship was purely platonic. Daffa revealed that she had even informed Reyhan that she already had a boyfriend. “The victim told him she had a boyfriend. She said, ‘We’re just friends,’ but the perpetrator seemed unwilling to accept it,” Daffa explained.

Feeling increasingly uneasy, Farradhila attempted to distance herself by limiting communication and eventually blocking Reyhan. Yet, these efforts to maintain boundaries failed to deter his persistent advances. Disturbingly, Reyhan even visited Farradhila’s home without her knowledge, intensifying her discomfort.

As they entered their eighth semester, the distance between them grew. Farradhila continued to avoid him, reiterating her desire to be left alone because she had a boyfriend, while Reyhan relentlessly pursued her.

The Hacking Attack

The series of rejections purportedly culminated in Reyhan’s desperate act of violence. Reports indicate he had premeditated the assault, preparing both an axe and a machete before the attack.

The horrific incident unfolded on Thursday morning (26/2) as Farradhila was on her way to attend a seminar proposal exam. Reyhan allegedly swung the axe three times, inflicting severe injuries to her hand and head. Campus security personnel swiftly intervened, providing immediate aid before rushing Farradhila to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

Faces 12 Years in Prison

In a photograph obtained by kumparan, Reyhan is seen wearing a black shirt and jeans, sitting on the floor with his hands handcuffed, following his arrest.

He has been charged under Article 469 of Law Number 1 Year 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP), which carries a maximum penalty of 12 years imprisonment. Kombes Pol Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, Head of Public Relations for the Riau Regional Police, confirmed that the article’s application is based on the alleged element of planning in the perpetrator’s violent act.

“The perpetrator arrived carrying sharp weapons. This implies preparation before the incident, which we are currently investigating further,” he stated on Thursday (26/2).
