PPATK catat transaksi judi online menyusut 20 persen dari Rp 359 triliun jadi Rp 286 triliun

Teknowarta – – The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) has revealed a significant downturn in online gambling transactions within Indonesia. In 2025, the total turnover from online gambling activities reached Rp 286.84 trillion, originating from 422.1 million transactions. This figure marks a substantial 20 percent decrease compared to 2024, when the turnover stood at Rp 359.81 trillion.

PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana underscored the historical significance of this decline, noting it as the first instance Indonesia has managed to reverse the previously escalating trend of online gambling transactions. “The year 2025 represents a new chapter and the very first time Indonesia has successfully curbed transactions related to online gambling,” Ivan stated during a working meeting with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Tuesday (February 3rd).

Beyond the overall transaction value, the total amount of deposits made into online gambling accounts also experienced a sharp drop. In 2025, the collective deposits recorded for online gambling amounted to Rp 36.01 trillion, a considerable reduction from the Rp 51.3 trillion recorded in 2024. This indicates a broader contraction in the financial activity surrounding these illicit operations.

Despite these positive developments, the pervasive nature of online gambling persists, with approximately 12.3 million individuals still making deposits through various payment channels. These include traditional banking services, digital wallets (e-wallets), and the ubiquitous QRIS system. Interestingly, PPATK’s analysis highlighted a shifting preference in payment methods.

“PPATK noted that the use of QRIS actually saw a significant increase when compared to deposits made through banks or e-wallets,” Ivan explained, indicating a challenge in monitoring and blocking these evolving transaction flows.

Ivan further clarified that this encouraging decline in total fund turnover and nominal deposits is far from accidental. Instead, it is the direct outcome of a more focused strategic approach and fortified cross-sector collaboration aimed at combating online gambling.

“The reduction in both the total nominal deposits and the online gambling fund turnover is attributable to the implementation of appropriate strategies and robust collaboration between the government and the private sector in efforts to prevent and eradicate online gambling from various angles,” Ivan concluded, emphasizing the unified front against this widespread issue.
