The tragic passing of a family of four during a glamping trip in the scenic Posong tourist area of Temanggung Regency, Central Java, has cast a profound shadow of grief over their relatives and neighbors.
The victims were identified as the father, Muhamad Ali Munawar (52); the mother, Maghfirah (43); their eldest son, Bagas Amar Hakiki (21); and their youngest son, Alvino Evan Hakim (16).
At the family’s residence in Kebumen Village, Banyubiru District, Semarang Regency, a somber crowd of relatives and friends began gathering on Thursday afternoon (May 28), anxiously awaiting the arrival of the beloved family’s remains.
Yuliana, a relative of the victims, tearfully recalled the family’s remarkable generosity. She highlighted that they were known for their philanthropic spirit, having just recently made a significant sacrifice of two goats for Eid al-Adha.
“They were exceptionally kind and truly generous people who consistently contributed to the community,” Yuliana recounted from the mourning house. She further shared that the family had just completed renovations on the back part of their parents’ home, specifically designed to create a more comfortable space for family gatherings and communal relaxation.
Their compassion extended beyond their immediate family, as they were also known for readily lending a helping hand to those in need. Overwhelmed with emotion, Yuliana wiped away tears, expressing her disbelief: “They were incredibly good, so kind. I’m still in shock; it feels surreal. It seems like just yesterday we met, and everyone was perfectly healthy.”
The sudden loss also deeply impacted Alvino’s classmates, with Lala sharing her profound sadness at the passing of her friend. “He was such a genuinely good person,” Lala stated, adding, “I received the news last night that he had passed away.”
