Adlina Amalia, Erin’s legal counsel, confirmed that they provided the master recordings from the CCTV system. She stated that approximately 12 CCTV cameras were installed at the residence, with all footage now handed over to the police. “There are quite a lot of CCTV cameras at the house, around 12 in total. So, everything the former domestic helper did in the house is detailed,” Adlina explained, emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the evidence.

According to Adlina, this extensive CCTV footage is expected to reveal the true sequence of events, directly addressing Herawati’s serious accusations, including claims that her client allegedly strangled, scratched, and threatened her with a knife. Adlina highlighted, “The scenes or statements from the former domestic helper, involving claims of strangulation, scratching, and brandishing a knife, can be viewed in detail and clearly in the CCTV footage.” To ensure undeniable authenticity, Adlina added, “We provided not just the CCTV footage but also the recorder itself, ensuring the genuineness of the CCTV evidence.”

Adding another layer to Erin’s defense, Farhanaz Maharani, another member of Erin’s legal team, asserted that the CCTV footage will refute all of Herawati’s allegations. She claimed the recordings portray a strikingly different scenario. “What was quite surprising from the CCTV results is that the situation was completely reversed. The footage shows our client’s hand being forcibly pulled by Herawati to go outside and meet the police, which our client resisted at the time,” Farhanaz revealed.

Farhanaz further elaborated on the implications of this new evidence. “This will be our primary focus in this report—that it was our client who was forcibly pulled, and that certainly falls under assault as well,” she stated, indicating a potential counter-allegation. Erin’s legal team is actively considering further legal steps in light of these revelations. They suspect that the former domestic helper was shouting for help while simultaneously pulling Erin’s hand.

The case originally stemmed from Herawati’s report against her former employer, Erin, for alleged assault. In her testimony before Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Herawati claimed to have endured both physical and verbal abuse while working at Erin’s home. She recounted being hit on the head with a broomstick after being scolded over housework. Furthermore, Herawati alleged that she was kicked, verbally abused, and subjected to intimidation throughout her employment. The investigation into this high-profile case remains ongoing with the police.
