Teknowarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has finally questioned Semarang-based entrepreneur Heri Setiyono, also known as Heri Black, at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday, May 18. Heri Black was summoned to appear as a witness in an alleged corruption case concerning the management of imported goods within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) under the Ministry of Finance. His appearance follows a previous failure to comply with an investigative summons.
“Today, investigators have rescheduled the examination of Mr. HS, a private employee, in the customs and excise case,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo informed reporters on Monday, May 18.
Heri Black arrived at the KPK Merah Putih Building at 09:04 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB) and immediately proceeded to undergo questioning by KPK investigators.
“He was directly taken for examination by the investigators,” Budi confirmed.
Previously, the KPK had scheduled Heri Black’s examination for May 8, 2026. However, he failed to attend the initial summons and only appeared for the rescheduled questioning today.
It is understood that KPK investigators had also conducted a search of Heri Black’s residence in Semarang some time ago, in connection with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise case. During this search, the KPK seized various pieces of evidence, including documents and electronic data.
Regarding the electronic evidence, Budi stated that investigators uncovered suspected obstruction of justice related to attempts to manipulate the case currently being handled by the KPK within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. However, Budi did not elaborate on the specific parties allegedly involved in these efforts to influence the case.
Budi did not deny that the KPK is currently pursuing new suspects, particularly those involved in the alleged obstruction of justice. Heri Black is reportedly affiliated with PT Blueray Cargo, an import goods services company whose leader, John Field, has already been named a defendant and is currently on trial in the same case.
“From the secured and seized evidence, investigators obtained information indicating attempts to hinder the investigative process of this case,” Budi told JawaPos.com when contacted on Friday, May 15.
According to Budi, the obstruction of justice originated from external parties. During the aforementioned search, KPK investigators confiscated several documents and electronic evidence believed to be linked to PT Blueray Cargo.
