Confirming their deployment, AKBP Erlichson Pasaribu, Chief of the Halmahera Utara Police, stated on Sunday, May 10, “The DVI team is currently heading towards Halmahera Utara. Their objective in Halmahera Utara is to carry out victim identification in the aftermath of the Mount Dukono eruption incident.”
Erlichson emphasized the profound importance of the DVI team‘s presence. He expressed hope that their expertise would significantly accelerate the victim identification process. The destructive Mount Dukono eruption tragically claimed the lives of three individuals. These victims have been identified as hikers who were in the area. Among them were two Singaporean nationals: Heng Wen Qiang Timothy, aged 30, and Shahin Muhrez Bin Abdul Hamid, aged 27.
The third fatality has been identified as an Indonesian national, Angel Krishela Pradipta, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to three.
