
Police in Pekanbaru City have apprehended and named four individuals as suspects in the brutal murder of 60-year-old Dimaris Isni Sitio in Rumbai Pesisir. The perpetrators now face the grim possibility of the death penalty for their alleged involvement in the heinous crime.
According to Police Commissioner Hasyim Risahondua, Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Riau Regional Police, the suspects, identified by their initials AFT, SL, EW, and L, have been charged under articles pertaining to premeditated murder. “The perpetrators are being charged with premeditated murder, specifically under Articles 459 and 458 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code,” stated Commissioner Risahondua during a press conference held at the Pekanbaru City Police Station on Sunday, May 3.
He further elaborated on the severe legal ramifications, adding, “For their actions, the suspects are now facing a maximum penalty that includes either capital punishment or life imprisonment.” This highlights the grave consequences awaiting those found guilty of such a crime.

During the comprehensive investigation into the Pekanbaru murder case, law enforcement officers successfully recovered a substantial amount of evidence believed to be stolen from the victim. These crucial items include various pieces of jewelry such as rings, bracelets, and necklaces, alongside other valuable possessions like watches, a laptop, a speaker, mobile phones, and a sum of S$400 in cash.
In addition to these personal belongings, investigators also seized a Daihatsu Xenia vehicle. This car is believed to have been utilized by the perpetrators as they carried out their criminal act, providing a key piece of evidence in connecting them to the crime scene.
Commissioner Risahondua affirmed, “The secured evidence comprises jewelry, electronic goods, a vehicle, and cash, all confirmed to belong to the victim.” This corroborates the robbery motive behind the murder.
Currently, all four suspects are being held in detention at the Pekanbaru City Police Station, where they are undergoing further legal proceedings as the judicial process moves forward to bring justice for the victim.
