KAI Commuter Indonesia has announced that KRL train services on the vital Bekasi–Cikarang line remain suspended this Wednesday morning, April 29th. The company anticipates a gradual resumption of operations beginning in the afternoon.
According to Anne Purba, Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, KRL journeys this morning are currently restricted, operating only as far as Bekasi Station. Full service restoration along the Bekasi-Cikarang corridor is projected to commence in phases during the midday hours.
Purba further clarified that active train evacuation efforts at the incident site remain underway, contributing to the ongoing service disruption.
Underscoring a steadfast commitment to passenger safety, Purba affirmed that comprehensive measures are being meticulously implemented to ensure all safety protocols are thoroughly satisfied before train operations can fully recommence. This cautious and gradual approach is paramount in handling the situation.
“Field teams are proceeding with evacuation efforts with the utmost caution. We guarantee that services will only resume once every aspect of operational safety has been completely met,” Anne stated in her official remarks this Wednesday, April 29th.
Expressing profound regret, Purba conveyed that KAI deeply understands the significant distress caused by the incident in the Bekasi area. On behalf of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), she extended heartfelt condolences to all individuals and parties affected by the disruption.
Concluding her statement, Purba acknowledged, “KAI recognizes that these circumstances inevitably impact the mobility of our valued customers and offers a sincere apology for the considerable inconvenience experienced.”
