The highly anticipated wedding of Indonesian celebrity El Rumi to Syifa Hadju is set to take place this coming Sunday, April 26th. The couple has been meticulously preparing for their big day, including holding a traditional pre-wedding recitation and prayer ceremony on Friday, April 24th, marking a significant step towards their union.
Speaking from the Pondok Indah area, music icon Ahmad Dhani shared his immense pride as his second son, El Rumi, prepares to tie the knot. This joyous occasion follows in the footsteps of his elder brother, Al Ghazali, who has also embarked on married life. Dhani confidently asserted his success in raising El, ensuring he is well-prepared to embrace this significant new chapter.
When probed about any special advice for El on the eve of his happy day, Dhani surprisingly revealed he had no particular messages to impart. “There are no messages,” Dhani stated, his voice resonating with conviction. “Essentially, I have successfully educated both El and Al, preparing them to step onto the next stage: the stage of household and married life.”
Beyond discussing his son’s readiness, Dhani also offered a glimpse into the scale of El’s upcoming wedding reception. He revealed that the celebration promises to be grander than Al’s previous reception, though it will remain considerably more intimate than his own extravagant ‘unduh mantu’ (traditional Javanese daughter-in-law welcoming ceremony) event. “This reception will be larger than Al’s, but significantly smaller than Ahmad Dhani’s ‘unduh mantu’ ceremony,” he clarified, adding a touch of playful comparison.
Adding a touch of personal aspiration, Dhani also shared his eager anticipation of welcoming grandchildren from El in the near future. With a relaxed and jovial tone, he expressed a desire for “as many as possible.” “I have five myself, don’t I?” Dhani quipped, chuckling, highlighting his enjoyment of a large family and setting a playful benchmark for his son.
