Padjadjaran University (Unpad) has taken a decisive stance by temporarily suspending a Professor allegedly implicated in a case of sexual violence against an international exchange student on campus. This immediate measure was implemented to ensure the smooth and unhindered progress of the ongoing investigation.
In an official press release, Unpad confirmed that the decision to suspend the faculty member was made swiftly after receiving and conducting an initial review of the report. This rapid response, executed on the same day the allegations surfaced, underscores the university’s commitment to addressing serious violations promptly.
Unpad Rector, Prof. Arief Sjamsulaksana Kartasasmita, unequivocally stated that the university maintains a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of violence, including sexual violence. “Upon receiving the full report, Unpad immediately took decisive action on the very same day, temporarily suspending the lecturer from all academic activities,” Prof. Arief affirmed in a statement released on Thursday, April 16th.
