The Police Criminal Investigation Agency’s Mobile Investigation Unit (Satresmob Bareskrim Polri) has successfully apprehended TS, also known as Ki Bedil, a notorious seller and assembler of illegal firearms. Investigators revealed that Ki Bedil had been operating his illicit enterprise for an astonishing two decades before his capture.
Kombes Arsya Khadafi, Head of Satresmob Bareskrim Polri, confirmed that Ki Bedil was arrested in the Rancaekek area of Bandung, West Java, on Monday, April 6, 2026. “Unit 1 of Satresmob Bareskrim Polri successfully secured the suspected perpetrator, who acted as both a seller and manufacturer of illegal weapons in the West Java region,” Arsya stated in his press release on Sunday, April 12, 2026. He further emphasized the longevity of the operation, adding, “He operated for 20 years and has only now been arrested.”

The extensive investigation into this case commenced with the arrest of an individual identified only as AS, who was suspected of acting as an intermediary in illegal firearms transactions. AS was apprehended on Jalan Cipacing, Sumedang Regency, marking a crucial breakthrough in dismantling the illicit network.

From AS’s possession, law enforcement officers seized compelling evidence, including a SIG Sauer P226 pistol complete with its magazine, an unfinished sample of a long-barreled weapon, two .22 mm caliber bullets, and several other items such as a black jacket and a fishing bag. This initial seizure provided vital clues, prompting further development of the case into two distinct locations within the Rancaekek area.
In Rancaekek Kulon, police discovered a substantial cache of various types of ammunition, ranging from bullets of different calibers and projectiles to specialized tools like drill bits, strongly suspected of being used in weapon manufacturing. Simultaneously, in Rancaekek Wetan, officers successfully apprehended Ki Bedil himself. During his arrest, authorities found significant evidence, including four long-barreled weapon stocks and an array of firearms assembly tools.

“The perpetrator, TS, is widely known among those seeking illegal firearms as Ki Bedil, an expert in crafting illicit revolvers, rifles, and pistols,” Arsya revealed. He further elaborated on Ki Bedil’s clientele, stating, “His buyers were predominantly perpetrators of street crime and illegal poachers.”
The police are currently continuing their intensive investigation to uncover any potential wider networks involved in the circulation of these illegal firearms, aiming to fully dismantle this dangerous criminal enterprise.
