Puspom selidiki 2 anggota TNI diduga terlibat penyalahgunaan BBM subsidi

The National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri), in collaboration with the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), has successfully uncovered an extensive case of subsidized fuel and LPG misuse spanning the 2025–2026 period, which has caused substantial state losses amounting to an alarming IDR 1.2 trillion. Investigations into one particular instance within this period have revealed the alleged involvement of rogue TNI personnel, signaling a serious breach of public trust.

Addressing the gravity of the situation, First Marshal Bambang Suseno, the Deputy Commander of the TNI Military Police Center (Puspom TNI), confirmed that his department is actively investigating the suspected involvement of two TNI personnel in these illicit activities. This underscores the military’s firm commitment to transparency and accountability within its ranks.

“We can confirm that in 2025, two personnel were allegedly involved in the misuse of subsidized fuel. This case is currently under active investigation by the regional Military Police Commands in Central Java and Bekasi,” Bambang stated during a press conference held at the Bhayangkara Police Field in South Jakarta on Tuesday, April 7. The ongoing probes aim to uncover the full extent of their involvement.

Bambang unequivocally stressed the TNI’s zero-tolerance policy towards any military personnel found to be exploiting subsidized goods. He assured the public that the legal process would proceed with complete transparency, meticulously following the jurisdiction of the incidents (locus delicti). This strong stance is part of a broader effort to maintain integrity within the armed forces.

Furthermore, Bambang reiterated, “The TNI will not tolerate and will take decisive action against any alleged perpetrators or individuals providing backing for rogue TNI personnel. This commitment has been firmly established by the leadership, ensuring that such actions will be met with strict penalties.” He emphasized that the institution is dedicated to rooting out corruption.

In a proactive move, Puspom TNI has also extended an invitation to the public, encouraging anyone with information regarding the involvement of other TNI personnel in similar cases to come forward. “We are opening avenues for complaints for anyone with knowledge of these activities. Please report directly to Puspom TNI or your respective regional Military Police Commands,” Bambang urged, highlighting the importance of public participation in combating these crimes.

Concurrently, the National Police echoed the strong sentiment articulated by Bambang, issuing a stern warning to its own members against becoming ‘backers’ in this illicit enterprise. This demonstrates a unified front between the nation’s security forces to eradicate such illegal practices.

Brigadier General Mohammad Irhamni, Director of Certain Criminal Acts at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), emphasized the police force’s internal commitment. “There is no room for members involved in such illegal practices. Every form of involvement, whether as a perpetrator or as a backer, will be met with decisive action from the leadership. There will be no tolerance,” Irhamni affirmed on Tuesday, April 7.

“Absolutely no tolerance,” he added, reinforcing the message. “This also represents a joint commitment between the National Police and other key stakeholders, especially our colleagues in the TNI,” signifying a coordinated effort to tackle the problem head-on.

State Losses Exceed IDR 1.2 Trillion

During the same occasion, Inspector General Nunung Syaifuddin, Deputy Chief of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency, presented a stark overview of the financial damage caused by the subsidized fuel and LPG mafia. He underscored the critical importance of robust law enforcement in maintaining stability amidst the current global energy crisis, asserting that these crimes undermine national security and economic well-being.

“Law enforcement actions undertaken by Bareskrim Polri and regional Police commands, spanning from 2025 to the present in 2026, reveal that the criminal acts of subsidized fuel and LPG misuse have led to a potential financial leakage from the state treasury reaching a staggering IDR 1,266,160,963,200,” Nunung elaborated, painting a clear picture of the vast sums siphoned away.

Breaking down these monumental figures, Nunung detailed that losses from the subsidized fuel sector alone amounted to IDR 516.8 billion, while the subsidized LPG sector contributed an additional IDR 749.2 billion to the total, highlighting the dual nature of this widespread illicit trade.

“These are truly significant figures. These subsidized goods are specifically intended to benefit the less fortunate members of society, yet they are being flagrantly misused for personal gain,” he concluded, lamenting the impact on vulnerable communities and the national economy.
