Polisi tangkap 2 pelaku penganiayaan maut di pesta pernikahan Purwakarta

A joyous wedding celebration in Purwakarta turned into a scene of tragedy when a 57-year-old father, Dadang, was fatally assaulted by two men, YI (36) and K (35), who have since been arrested by the Purwakarta Police. The shocking incident, which unfolded at Dadang’s residence in Kertamukti Village, Campaka District, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, saw the victim succumb to his injuries amidst his child’s wedding festivities.

According to official reports, the celebration was underway with a solo organ performance to entertain guests when a group of intoxicated individuals arrived at approximately 2:50 PM WIB. This group, including the primary assailant YI, disrupted the festivities by demanding money from the organ player, ostensibly to purchase more alcoholic beverages. An initial offer of Rp100,000 from the event organizer was reportedly rejected by the group, who deemed it insufficient.

The situation quickly escalated into a tumultuous commotion, prompting Dadang to intervene in an attempt to restore peace. His efforts, however, led to a heated confrontation with the unruly individuals. Despite Dadang’s attempts to de-escalate, the dispute turned violent, with the intoxicated group reportedly chasing the victim to the front of his own home, in full view of his family and wedding guests, including his child seated on the bridal dais.

It was at this distressing moment that Dadang was brutally attacked. Police confirmed that the victim was struck on the back of the head with a 33-cm bamboo stick. Following the egregious assault, the perpetrators fled the scene, leaving Dadang severely injured. He was rushed to Bhakti Husada Hospital but tragically passed away shortly after arrival, unable to survive the critical injuries sustained.

Purwakarta Police Chief AKBP I Dewa Putu Gede Anom Danujaya stated that YI and K were apprehended at different locations and times. During the interrogation, YI revealed that the violent outburst was fueled by resentment after Dadang’s family denied his demand for Rp500,000 and instead admonished him. Chief Anom highlighted that the perpetrator was already in a state of intoxication upon arriving at the scene, exacerbating his aggressive behavior.

Law enforcement officials have secured critical evidence from the scene, including the 33-cm bamboo stick used in the attack, along with several bottles of alcoholic beverages and soda. Both YI and K are facing severe legal consequences, charged under Article 466 Paragraph 1 (Jo) Article 3 of the Criminal Code. If convicted, they could face a maximum sentence of seven years in prison for their role in the fatal assault that marred a family’s joyous occasion. (mcr27/jpnn)
