She agreed to forgo her mut’ah rights, valued at a considerable Rp 1 billion, and also waived Okin’s monthly child support obligation of Rp 50 million. In return, Okin was expected to assume full responsibility for the Rp 52 million monthly mortgage installments for their house in Kemang.
“Rachel agreed for him to take the house, and he wouldn’t need to provide child support, but he had to pay the installments. This was an act of kindness from Rachel,” explained Sangun. However, this amicable arrangement soon unraveled when Rachel began receiving warning letters from the bank, indicating that the house’s mortgage payments were in arrears.
