Commander Rakhman stated that Sergeant First Class Ichwan’s rank would be posthumously elevated to Staff Sergeant (Serka). “It is indeed being considered and the administrative process is underway,” Afrizal affirmed. “Once the necessary arrangements are complete, his rank will be upgraded from Sergeant First Class to Staff Sergeant posthumously.”

Addressing the complex process of repatriating the fallen soldier’s remains to his homeland, Commander Rakhman indicated that all procedures are currently in progress. Sergeant First Class Ichwan’s body remains in Lebanon, awaiting the intricate evacuation process. “Our immediate focus after this is the thorough preparation for the funeral procession,” he explained. “Regarding the estimated timeline for repatriation, I cannot provide a definitive answer as the manifest, cargo, and other logistical details still need to be meticulously handled on-site in Lebanon.”

Despite the ongoing logistical challenges, one certainty remains: Staff Sergeant Ichwan will be laid to rest with full military honors. Commander Rakhman assured the public that the funeral arrangements have been meticulously planned, with the burial scheduled to take place in Magelang, Central Java, in accordance with the wishes of his grieving family. “We have prepared all aspects of the funeral ceremony, ensuring a military burial within the Magelang area,” Afrizal emphasized.

In a heartfelt tribute, Magelang Regent Grengseng Pamuji extended profound condolences over the loss of Sergeant First Class Ichwan. He hailed the fallen soldier as “the best son of our region.” Regent Pamuji articulated the local government’s pride and sorrow: “We convey our deepest sympathies on the passing of Sergeant First Class Ichwan, who was diligently serving as part of a peacekeeping force.
