The Ministry of ESDM’s Spokesperson, Dwi Anggia, underscored the immense potential of energy cooperation with Japan to bolster national energy security. In a statement released on Monday, March 30, Anggia confirmed, “The ESDM Minister joined President Prabowo on his trip to Japan. Several key initiatives were discussed, notably within the energy sector, focusing on the development of sustainable clean energy.” During this pivotal engagement, Minister Bahlil Lahadalia holds a strategic role to ensure that all prospective energy sector collaborations are successfully transformed into concrete, actionable agreements.

Earlier, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya highlighted the expectation that these meetings would serve as a crucial momentum for strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. During his official visit, President Prabowo Subianto is slated to hold a state meeting with Japanese Emperor Naruhito, alongside engaging in bilateral discussions with the Japanese Government in Tokyo.

Secretary Wijaya further elaborated, affirming that “these gatherings are anticipated to be a strategic turning point for solidifying cooperation across diverse fields, specifically encompassing investment, energy, maritime affairs, and digital technology.” This reiterates the broad scope of the partnership being pursued during the high-level visit.
