United States President Donald Trump has announced a significant deferment of military action targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure. The planned strikes are now postponed for ten days, pushing the deadline to April 6, a move he explicitly attributed to a direct request from Tehran.
Trump characterized the ongoing discussions as “very good,” signaling a potential diplomatic path forward. However, Tehran has yet to publicly corroborate this optimistic assessment, leaving the Iranian perspective on these critical negotiations unconfirmed.
This latest extension follows a similar announcement earlier in the week. On Monday, President Trump had initially declared a delay in threats against Iranian nuclear facilities until Friday. Now, that ultimatum has been further pushed back, indicating a continued, albeit cautious, engagement between the two nations.
Sharing his views on Truth Social, and as reported by Al Jazeera on Friday, March 27, Trump stated, “Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous conflicting statements from the ‘Fake News’ media and others, everything is going very well.”
