Jakarta, IDN Times – The Jakarta Presidential Palace is once again opening its doors to the public for an “open house” event to celebrate Idul Fitri 1447 H. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya announced that the palace will welcome visitors from after Dhuhr prayers until late afternoon.
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to perform Idul Fitri prayers in Aceh before returning to Jakarta. Upon his arrival in the capital, the President will join the festive gathering. “After (returning from Aceh), the President will come to Jakarta. Then, it’s likely that at the palace, we will prepare a halalbihalal, a friendly gathering for all members of the community who wish to visit,” Teddy stated on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Visitor Capacity Limited to Five Thousand
Due to space constraints, Teddy explained that the number of visitors will be capped at five thousand people. Should the palace grounds reach full capacity, alternative areas will be made available around the Ministry of State Secretariat. “Yes, probably around five thousand, similar to last year. We will naturally prepare inside the palace, and if it becomes too crowded, tents have also been set up outside by the Minister of State Secretary, allowing people to enter in shifts,” he clarified.
Palace to Host Lunch and Entertainment
During the special occasion, Teddy confirmed that the Presidential Palace will provide lunch for all attendees. Additionally, entertainment options will be available, specifically catering to children. “There will be lunch, a friendly gathering, ketupat, and other refreshments. The palace will be open to the public from afternoon until evening. Just like last year, the palace is open for the people, and various foods and a little entertainment for young children will be prepared, that’s roughly the plan,” he elaborated.
President Prabowo’s Idul Fitri Celebrations Across Sumatra
President Prabowo Subianto is celebrating Idul Fitri 1447 H on Sumatra Island. He began the festivities by participating in the Takbiran — the eve of Eid celebrations — near the North Sumatra Governor’s Office. President Prabowo also distributed essential relief packages to local communities. “Yesterday, if you recall, the President spent New Year’s Eve in North Sumatra with the Governor as well, specifically in South Tapanuli. Then today, after three months, he wanted to return, also to conduct checks, followed by the Takbiran night in North Sumatra,” Teddy revealed, highlighting the President’s engagement with the region.
