Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka observed the sacred occasion of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H by participating in morning prayers at Jakarta’s prominent Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta. He arrived punctually around 06:30 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB), accompanied by his wife, Selvi Ananda, and their two children, Jan Ethes Srinarendra and La Lembah Manah. This family presence at one of the nation’s most revered houses of worship emphasized the spiritual significance of the Islamic holy day.
The Vice Presidential family presented a unified image, all dressed in crisp white attire, symbolizing purity and the joyous spirit of Eid. Upon their arrival, Gibran was cordially welcomed by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, marking an official acknowledgment of his attendance. Following the initial greetings, Gibran proceeded to take his place in the front row for the communal prayer, seated alongside his son, Jan Ethes, and Minister Nasaruddin, adhering to the traditional arrangements for such a major religious observance.
Concurrently, President Prabowo opted for a different location to perform the Eid al-Fitr prayer, heading to Aceh Tamiang. This choice highlights the diverse regional engagement of national leaders during significant religious festivals. Based on observations from the President’s Secretariat YouTube channel, President Prabowo was joined by a distinguished delegation, including Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, as they collectively marked this auspicious day.
