A delegation of 20 Indonesian entrepreneurs is scheduled to follow President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to the United States (US) next week, embarking on a critical mission to strengthen bilateral economic relations.
Shinta W Kamdani, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (Apindo), announced that these business leaders plan to host a business summit in the nation currently led by President Donald Trump. Her statement came after a strategic meeting with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto. “This was preparation for America,” Shinta elaborated from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Thursday, February 12. “Next week, we will have an event in America, in Washington D.C., where the President will also be present, and we will hold a business summit there.”
Shinta confirmed that all preparations for this upcoming Business Summit are meticulously finalized. The contingent will comprise 20 entrepreneurs representing diverse sectors of Indonesia’s economy, all poised to participate in key discussions in the US.
Concurrently, President Prabowo Subianto is set to travel to the US for the crucial finalization of US import tariffs, with the signing ceremony specifically slated for February 19, 2026. Expressing optimism, Shinta hoped that these pivotal tariff discussions with the US would yield positive outcomes. “We earnestly hope this initiative proves beneficial for us, particularly regarding tariff structures,” Shinta concluded. “Our aspiration remains that labor-intensive sectors can achieve more favorable tariff conditions.”
