Kasatgas Tito ungkap pemulihan pascabencana Sumatera capai progres signifikan

Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Head of the Task Force for Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) for the Sumatra Region, has reported significant strides in post-disaster recovery across 52 districts and cities. While acknowledging that some areas still require intensive intervention, he affirmed that the general situation in most regions is steadily returning to normalcy.

Tito conveyed this positive update during the “Assistance Handover to Affected Regions” event, held in conjunction with leaders of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) at the Aceh Provincial Multipurpose Building in Banda Aceh, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has played a crucial role in these efforts, channeling an impressive Rp 4.7 trillion to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to bolster post-disaster recovery initiatives. This substantial allocation is earmarked for distribution to affected communities, guided by clearly defined criteria. Emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach, Tito specifically urged leaders of the MPR and the House of Representatives (DPR) to lend their support, which he deems essential for optimizing the recovery trajectory. He highlighted the critical impact of normalizing regional transfer funds (TKD), stating, “We earnestly request the support of the MPR and DPR for the local government transfer funds. Because the President has announced that regional transfers for the three disaster-affected provinces will be restored to the 2025 level. That will have a significant impact.” Reinstating these TKD budgets is anticipated to dramatically enhance recovery, enabling their use for vital needs such as furniture and the restoration of public and governmental infrastructure.

Throughout his tenure as Head of the PRR Task Force, Tito Karnavian has spearheaded a series of strategic initiatives designed to accelerate recovery. These include consistently organizing coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders, regularly visiting disaster-affected sites, facilitating the distribution of aid, systematically inventorying the specific needs of impacted regions, and conducting frequent meetings to review the progress displayed on the Sumatra Region Post-Disaster PRR Task Force’s comprehensive data dashboard. “At the Ministry of Home Affairs, we operate a Joint Command Post,” Tito elaborated. “This post comprises representatives from various government agencies, all part of the Task Force, who conduct regular Zoom meetings with staff from local government heads—whether the Regional Secretary, the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), or social services departments, among others. This continuous engagement ensures constant updates and information sharing.”

Tito underscored the paramount importance of timely and accurate data submission from regions that have not yet provided updates on their local conditions. He stressed that such data is indispensable for implementing a comprehensive and effective response. Moreover, to uphold data integrity and prevent any redundancy or inaccuracies, the submitted information undergoes rigorous validation by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). “This mechanism is fundamentally bottom-up, driven by the responsiveness of local governments,” he asserted. “I follow up every week with Zoom meetings. Following that initial speed from the local governments, the second critical step is validation by BPS, the Central Statistics Agency, to prevent any potential issues.”

Akbar Supratman.
