3,2 juta kendaraan belum tinggalkan Jakarta, lonjakan diprediksi Rabu-Jumat

The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police has reported that the vast majority of Eid al-Fitr homecoming travelers, commonly known as mudik participants, had not yet departed from Jakarta as of Saturday evening, March 14. This significant delay indicates a considerable volume of traffic still awaiting departure in the capital region.

Brigadier General Faizal, Director of Law Enforcement for Korlantas Polri, highlighted the current situation, stating that approximately 3.2 million vehicles, out of the total projected for the entire mudik period, had yet to commence their journeys from Jakarta. Speaking from the Command Center at KM 29 on Saturday, March 14, Faizal remarked, “Our prediction anticipated an increase on the 14th and 15th. However, as of this evening, we can confirm that approximately 459,570 vehicles have departed from Jakarta.”

He further detailed the overall projected exodus, noting that out of an anticipated total of 3,671,028 vehicles leaving Jakarta during this period, roughly 3.2 million vehicles—or about 76.9%—are still expected to depart. This indicates that the peak of the Eid al-Fitr homecoming rush is still to come, posing a considerable challenge for traffic management.

Faizal underscored the expectation of an imminent surge in mudik traffic over the next few days. “Naturally, we are proactively preparing for the remaining phase of Operation Ketupat, especially concerning the homecoming traffic flow. Our forecast points to a significant surge occurring on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,” he explained, emphasizing the critical period ahead.

In response to these projections, Korlantas Polri has strategically deployed personnel across various key routes. Both toll roads and arterial roads are being closely monitored and staffed to effectively manage the anticipated increase in vehicle volume and ensure a smoother flow for travelers.

“We are, of course, continuously monitoring the evolving situation, and our personnel stationed along all routes, be it toll roads or arterial roads, remain vigilant and prepared to respond,” Faizal affirmed, reiterating the police’s commitment to maintaining order and safety during the busy Eid al-Fitr travel period.
