It is understood that NS (13), the son from Anwar’s marriage to Lisnawati, died under unnatural circumstances, allegedly due to abuse perpetrated by TR. This tragic incident occurred in Jampangkulon District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

The village is located approximately 56 km from Palabuhanratu, the capital of Sukabumi Regency, a journey that typically takes about two hours by car.

Lisnawati reported Anwar for alleged domestic violence (KDRT) and child neglect. Anwar was reported by his ex-wife on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Hair-Cutting Incident with a Machete

Anwar Satibi confirmed that he once cut Lisnawati’s hair with a machete while they were married. However, he emphasized that this event occurred over a decade ago.

“Yes, it’s true. My anger back then, this incident happened over ten years ago. I honestly almost want to laugh about it. If she wanted to press charges, why didn’t she do it back then?” Anwar stated when met at the residence of his adoptive father, Haji Isep Dadang Sukmana, in Kampung Pasirpulus, Jampang Kulon, Sukabumi, on the night of Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

According to Anwar, the incident could not be categorized as domestic violence because their marriage at the time was unregistered (siri).

He explained that he merely trimmed the ends of his ex-wife’s hair as a form of warning.

“I took the machete; her hair was long, and I cut the tips, saying ‘I’ll cut it with this, like that,’ the ends of her hair,” Anwar recounted. He claimed the action was intended to make his ex-wife desist and communicate with him first before making decisions.

Anwar, who is also a dental technician, questioned why these accusations were only surfacing now. “Why wasn’t this pursued earlier if she wanted to press charges? It’s been almost 13 years,” he remarked. He even suspected external parties were influencing his ex-wife to dredge up the old incident.

“I am absolutely, one billion percent convinced that there is a scenario orchestrated behind my wife; I believe that. I’m not being prejudiced, but I am certain there’s a scheme,” Anwar added emphatically.

Accusing Ex-Wife of Seeking Attention

Anwar vehemently denied neglecting his child. He described his ex-wife’s decision to report him amidst their grief as illogical. “Well, in my opinion, my ex-wife seems to be mentally unwell. In a time of sorrow like this, if she came with her lawyer to unravel this case (death) to seek justice, I would agree,” Anwar said.

However, Anwar rejected the accusation that he had neglected NS during his lifetime. He argued that enrolling his son in an Islamic boarding school was proof of his commitment to his child’s education. “If she accuses me of child neglect, it’s impossible that I would have sent him to a pondok or to school,” Anwar asserted.

Anwar clarified that NS was initially brought by his biological mother and her family to the foundation where Anwar worked in the Solokan Pari area. “So I didn’t know; essentially, my child came here, I didn’t take him from there, but he was brought by her to Solokan Pari,” he stated.

Over time, Anwar became acquainted with TR. At that point, TR showed great sympathy towards NS. Anwar admitted that the attention TR gave NS was one of the reasons he married TR.

After marrying TR, Anwar continued, his son’s school was transferred from Purwasedar to Cilubang by his new wife.

Frequent Conflicts

Anwar often found himself in conflict with TR, primarily triggered by issues concerning the children. He attributed the friction to differing parenting styles and the varied backgrounds of their respective children. Anwar’s son, Raja (NS), was still in elementary school at the time, while TR had an adopted child who was already a teenager.

“So my son, Raja (NS), was still small, still in elementary school, while she had a child who was already in high school. When there were arguments about the children, it was always my son who got scolded, which led to a lot of discomfort in our household,” he explained. Anwar clarified that before marrying TR, his son was sent by his biological mother to Solokan Pari to stay at an Islamic boarding school.

After their marriage, Anwar recounted, TR moved his son’s school from Purwasedar to Cilubang. Given the increasing frequency of their arguments, Anwar sought advice from his adoptive father, Haji Isep.

“Finally, I asked my adoptive father, Mr. Haji Isep, for a solution: ‘Father, what should I do? I frequently argue because of the child.’ My father said it would be best for this child to move out of the house,” he shared. Consequently, he decided his son would leave the house about a year ago and reside in the Darul Ma’arif Cibitung Islamic Boarding School complex.

“Incidentally, my father runs an Islamic boarding school and a foundation, and he is also an advisor there,” Anwar added.

For context, NS passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at RSU Jampang Kulon, Sukabumi Regency. Before his death, NS reportedly claimed his stepmother, TR, forced him to drink hot water. This allegedly caused several burn injuries on the victim’s body. However, TR denied the accusations of abuse or murder, attributing NS’s death to fate.

TR claimed to have cared for the victim since he was in the 3rd grade of elementary school and expressed deep distress over the child’s passing. She deemed the public’s response on social media to be excessive and unjust. She even referred to netizens as “armchair heroes,” suggesting they only commented without offering tangible help, including during the funeral process.

Most recently, the Sukabumi Polres police have named TR as a suspect for alleged violence, both physical and psychological. (Fersianus Waku)
